Identify Potentially Fraudulent Activity

For compliance teams working with large portfolios of merchants, partners, vendors, or domains, it is essential to have timely, accurate, and proactive data. Whether you're running due diligence, investigating potential fraud, or monitoring ongoing activity across a list of third-party sites, our platform offers a set of purpose-built tools designed to give your team full visibility and control.

The Value of Assessing Risks

Sales Intelligence is valuable for numerous compliance-focused functions, including:

  • Third-party/vendor risk assessment
  • Ongoing due diligence and portfolio health monitoring
  • Fraud detection and suspicious activity flagging
  • Compliance breach detection
  • Benchmarking merchant behavior within industries
  • Regulatory risk profiling based on site activity patterns

By combining website behavior data, traffic trends, technographic insights, and real-time alerts, compliance teams can stay ahead of risk without relying solely on static databases, verifying merchant claims, and save time on the onboarding process.

Lists: Monitor Your Merchant Portfolio at Scale

Using the Lists feature allows you to group domains for ongoing tracking, whether it’s your existing merchant base, newly onboarded vendors, or flagged third-party sites.

  • Create custom lists by uploading domains or selecting from the list of sites that appear.

  • Once created, you can hide all filters and focus on keeping the Signals filter.

  • Use list-level analytics to monitor traffic changes, engagement shifts, and technographic updates across all domains.

Within any list you create, set up compliance-related metrics as columns to build a risk heatmap. This can be found by customizing the columns in the top right corner of the screen. Then, you can export the data, or filter directly within the interface.

  • Monthly Unique Visitors: Sudden drops or surges can signal risk.
  • Traffic Source Composition: Overreliance on referral traffic or unknown sources could be a red flag.
  • Top Countries: Identify domains receiving traffic from high-risk geographies.
  • Bounce Rate / Visit Duration: Unusual behavior may indicate artificial or bot traffic.

Signals: Real-Time Alerts for Risk & Change Detection

Compliance teams often use this for early fraud detection or partner instability. Signals allow you to stay ahead of risk with proactive email alerts on:

  • Traffic anomalies: Spikes or drops in activity
  • Tech stack changes: When a domain adds/drops key tools (e.g., payment processors) or adds technology that require further scrutiny
  • News mentions: If a domain appears in media with negative context

You can find Sales Signals under the Company Analysis/Website Analysis report, or you can include them in your Lists to customize thresholds and to set signals. You can set up multiple signals. Once you set those signals, you'll get proactive alerts when they're triggered via email.

Note that you can look at the history of triggered signals using the signals filters. You will get the email alerts moving forward once you set it up, but you won’t get any retroactively.

Signals API

With the Sales Signal API, instead of getting alerts via email, you can get real-time, proactive alerts within your CRM or visualization tool (Slack, Zapier, etc).

Note: You will only get alerts from the day you added that domain – it is not providing a history of when it hit those spikes before.

Company and Website Analysis for a Deep-Dive Domain Investigation

Company Analysis
Website Analysis

For case-by-case reviews, use the Website Analysis (within Company Analysis) page to audit:

  • Website traffic and engagement: View 12+ months of historical traffic trends.
  • Geographic distribution: Understand if traffic is coming from sanctioned or restricted regions.

  • Technographics: See installed or removed tools, especially related to payments, fraud prevention, or CMS.
  • Engagement metrics: Spot if session durations drop suddenly or bounce rates spike.
  • Marketing Channels (found in Website Analysis): determine where traffic is coming from and if it's legitimate. Looking at incoming and outgoing referral traffic in particular will be helpful to gauge legitimacy and quality of the traffic.
