Phrase Match Keywords

Includes all search terms that contain broad or exact match mention of your seed keyword.

For instance, the seed keyword "car insurance" will surface all user searches that match the words "car" and "insurance" such as: 'car insurance near me', 'military car insurance', and liability insurance for rental cars'

Related Keywords

Includes search terms that are semantically similar to the seed keyword -- terms that match the user's intent, rather than just exact match. These are terms which are ranking alongside the seed term on top performing pages.

For instance, the seed keyword "car insurance" will surface all the user search that are relevant to the words "car insurance" such as: 'quick online car quote', 'vehicle insurance quotes', and 'online drivers insurance'

Note: Analyzing Amazon and YouTube provides the Phrase Match Generator and Related Keywords Generator only.

Trending Keywords

Includes all keyword suggestions that closely match the seed keyword, with a significant traffic increase since the previous month.

Finding relevant long-tail keywords is important for any SEO, PPC, and Content Marketer -- as customers are becoming far more adept at using long-tail searches to find what they are looking for.

Question Queries

Includes all keyword suggestions in the form of a question.

For example, the seed word: NBA , might generate the question keyword suggestions: “what does NBA mean” or “when are the NBA playoffs."

Tip: Question Queries point to a clearer understanding of the potential customer's intent, and Trending Keywords give great insight into what is most popular - both providing powerful insight to help plan your keyword strategy.

FAQs

How is the Keyword Generator different from Google Keyword Planner?

The Google Ads Keyword Planner relies on search volumes and Google's related keyword data. Similarweb's Keyword Generator mines actual searches and is based on a representative data set of keyword relationships, similar to broad-matched search terms.

In many ways, Keyword Generator provides a complementary service to Google’s Keyword Planner. While the Keyword Planner offers keyword suggestions for a Google Ads campaign, Similarweb’s Keyword Generator provides comprehensive coverage of the keywords, including the leading domain for each and a breakdown of paid and organic search terms. We also calculate search volume with our hybrid keyword methodology that improves coverage and accuracy in certain scenarios.

Where do the keywords presented in the Keywords Generator come from?

The keywords you see in the Keywords Generator tool are sourced from anonymous behavioral data collected through our contributory network on Google, YouTube, and Amazon searched. Visit Similarweb Data Methodology for more information.
