Using Prompt Analysis

Part of the AI Brand Visibility module, Prompt Analysis shows the prompts users are asking ChatGPT for the topics you are tracking. 

 

The Value of Prompt Analysis

Understand what and how your audience is searching within Gen AI, by reviewing the most relevant prompts for the topics you are tracking. 

On an individual prompt level, you are able to see whether or not your brand is mentioned in the answer, and dig deeper to reveal the other brands that appear in the answer. If you are missing from answers, you can prioritize on and off page tactics to improve your visibility. 

 

Report Use Cases

  • Bolster your content strategy to ensure you have content to cover all prompts within topics, especially for the prompts where you are not mentioned and have no visibility
  • Understand the top citations per prompt to identify offsite partnership, PR or brand opportunities to increase your visibility

 

Report Location

This report lives inside the AI Brand Visibility module. In the lefthand menu of Web Intelligence, under Gen AI Intelligence, select AI Brand Visibility. Click into an open campaign you have created, and navigate to Prompt Analysis.

 

Report Features and How to Use It 

View all tracked prompts, whether your brand is mentioned or not, the related topic, and the citations used. 

All prompts are displayed, but you can get granular with:

  • Search: type in a word(s) to reveal relevant prompts

  • Filter by topic: choose from your pre-defined topics to only view prompts related to that topic

Hover on any prompt and click on the blue arrow to reveal a prompt’s full details, including all brands mentioned (in order of mentions) and exact source citations.

You can also uncover the actual answer of the chatbot, and the sources it relied on to formulate its response, so you can gain a deeper understanding of which brands and sources the chatbot relies on for the prompt. 

 

 

FAQs

Can I see which competitors appear in prompts where my brand is missing?
Yes. By opening a prompt’s details, you can see all brands mentioned in the answer (in order of mentions) as well as the sources ChatGPT used. This helps you identify competitor strengths and opportunities to close visibility gaps.

How do I use the search and filter options effectively?
You can search for keywords within the report (e.g., “best tools” or “pricing”) to surface only the most relevant prompts. You can also filter by topic to focus on prompts tied to a specific area of your campaign.

What should I do if my brand isn’t mentioned in answers?
Use these gaps to guide your content and visibility strategy. For on-page improvements, create or optimize content targeting the missing prompts. For off-page tactics, consider partnerships, PR, or outreach with the top domains that ChatGPT relies on for those prompts.

Can I view the actual chatbot answers?
Yes. For every prompt, you can open the full answer that ChatGPT provided along with its exact citations. This allows you to see how your brand and competitors are framed within responses and which sources shaped the output.
