Connect your Apple App Store to Similarweb

Here’s a step-by-step guide to connecting your Apple App Store Connect account with Similarweb. It uses advanced encryption and gathers your apps data needed to monitor downloads, revenue, in-app purchases, keywords and more.

How to connect

Step 1: Generate your API Key in Apple App Store

To start, you need to create a secure connection key within your Apple App Store account:

1. Log in to App Store Connect. 
2. Go to ‘Users and Access’ and select the ‘Integrations’ tab (or the ‘Keys’ tab, depending on your account version.)
3. Click the + (add) button to generate a new API Key. Give it a name (we recommend something like ‘Similarweb integration.’)

4. Set the Access level to ‘Admin’
5. Click ‘Generate’

Step 2: Find your credentials

You will need four specific pieces of information to complete the setup:

Step 3: Complete the connection in Similarweb 

1. Go to the Similarweb platform and navigate to App Intelligence
2. App Intelligence Homepage > Create an iOS Tracker
3. After the tracker has been created, click the button to ‘Connect to Apple App Store’’

Please note: It’s better if you select your app as the ‘main app’ in the tracker.

4. Add the key values above
5. Upload the file
6. Click ‘Connect’

When you link an App Store Connect account to Similarweb, we will verify that the connection works and that the account has the necessary permissions to import your reports. This process may take up to 72 hours.

How do I disconnect my Apple App Store account?

To fully stop sharing your data, you must revoke access directly from your Apple App Store Connect account. 

Follow these steps to disconnect:

1. Log in to your Apple App Store Connect account.
2. Navigate to Users and Access and select the Integrations (or Keys) tab.
3. Locate the API Key you created for Similarweb and select Revoke Key.

What happens next? Once the key is revoked, Similarweb will lose access. In the Similarweb

The Private Key can only be downloaded once. If lost, you’ll need to revoke the key and generate a new one. You will need to wait for an error message within the tracker, click on it, and then reconnect using the new key.
