Viewing Referrals

This shows incoming traffic to your domain vs. your competitors. Referrals include traffic from affiliates, links, and content partners and traffic from direct media buying or news coverage.

Referral Traffic & Engagement

This shows you traffic by referral websites and key engagement metrics related to those visits. You can display this information on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

Note: You can select Growth Rate Over Time to show the percentage of traffic change from one month to another.

In the table, you can see:
  • Domain: Hovering over the domain will give you more details, such as Global RankCountry Rank, and Last Month Visits.
  • Traffic Share: This shows the percentage of referral traffic sent to the website.
  • Visits: This shows the referral traffic sent to the domain over a selected period.
  • Change: This shows the percentage of change from the previous month.
  • Ave. Visit Duration: This shows the average duration of the visit in hours, minutes, and seconds.
  • Page per Visit: This shows the average number of pages visited per referral visit.
  • Bounce Rate: This shows the average bounce rate, which is when the user visits only one page from a referral.

Referral Opportunities

This is where you can see referral partner traffic your competitors are receiving, but the website you are analyzing is not. This presents a great opportunity to pursue new opportunities.

In the table, you can see:
  • Referring Domain: This shows a list of websites referring traffic to the domain.
  • Traffic Share: This shows the percentage of traffic sent by the referral to the group of websites in your arena. 
  • Incoming Traffic Share: This shows the distribution of traffic between the analyzed sites.

This is where you can see referral partners you are pursuing, but losing out to your competition. This allows you to put more focus on where you are losing and rethink your strategy.

In the table, you can see:

This is where you can see the referral partners both the main site you are analyzing and the competition is competing for. This presents the opportunity to go after what works best.
