Arena Organic Search Overview

Important

If you’ve used workspace arenas in the past, you’ll see that Competitive Trackers are the next generation of this feature, bringing a new level of smart insights and commentary to the table. 

Workspaces and arenas will only be available to users who have previously created them. You'll find them within the Competitive Trackers module.

The Organic Search Overview section shows you an overview of a domain’s organic performance against the competitors you selected in an Arena. This allows you to quickly identify SEO opportunities at a glance.

How to use?

To view the Organic Seach overview for an Arena, follow those steps:

  1. Go to Workspace and select Marketing and Research.

  2. Select an existing Arena or visit Using Arenas for instructions on how to create a new Arena.

  3. Click the Organic Search Overview tab.

Search & Traffic Engagement

The Search Traffic & Engagement graph shows you traffic by search and key engagement metrics relating to those visits. You can display this information on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

Filter by:

  • All Organic Visits (default): Displays all non-paid visits to your site.

  • Branded Organic Visits: Displays all branded visits (the name of the domain being analyzed).

  • Non-Branded Organic Visits: Displays all non-branded visits.

    Note: You can select Growth Rate Over Time to show the percentage of traffic change from one month to another.

Key metrics & insights in the table:

  • Visits: Search organic traffic sent to the domain over a selected period.

  • Page per Visit: Average number of pages visited per organic search visit.

  • Bounce Rate: Average bounce rate, which is when the user visits only one page from the organic search.

Keyword Opportunities

This shows you the keywords competitors are getting traffic for, but you are not. This presents an opportunity to go after more traffic based on these opportunities.

In the table, you can see:

  • Keyword: Hovering over the keyword will give you two options. First, you can click the graph to see more insights on that keyword (Search Traffic > Keywords). In addition, you can click the Google icon to see the keyword results in the search engine results page (SERP). This will give you a first-hand look at the results on Google.

  • Volume: Amount of traffic received per keyword, which allows you to focus on keywords that get the most traffic.

  • Competitive Traffic Share: Breakdown of traffic share between you and your competitors, which shows how you are doing with your keywords compared to your competitors.

Keyword Losses

This shows you keywords you are pursuing, but are losing out to your competitors. You can get more visits by focusing on keywords you are losing out on.

In the table, you can see:

  • Keyword: Hovering over the keyword will give you two options. First, you can click the graph to see more insights on that keyword (Search Traffic > Keywords). In addition, you can click the Google icon to see the keyword results in the search engine results page (SERP). This will give you a first-hand look at the results on Google.

  • Volume: Amount of traffic received per keyword, which allows you to focus on keywords that get the most traffic.

  • Competitive Traffic Share: Breakdown of traffic share between you and your competitors, which shows you the keywords that you are losing out to your competitors.

Highly Competitive Keywords

This shows you keywords both you and your competitors are competing for. This shows keywords that are working and are highly competitive, which gives you the opportunity to try and wins these keywords.

In addition, you can click the Google icon to see the keyword results in the search engine results page (SERP). This will give you a first-hand look at the results on Google.

  • Volume: Amount of traffic received per keyword, which allows you to focus on keywords that get the most traffic.

  • Competitive Traffic Share: Breakdown of traffic share between you and your competitors, which shows you the keywords with the most competition.

Keyword Wins

This shows you the keywords driving the most traffic to your site. You have the chance to protect the keywords that work best for you.

In the table, you can see:

  • Keyword: Hovering over the keyword will give you two options. First, you can click the graph to see more insights on that keyword (Search Traffic > Keywords). In addition, you can click the Google icon to see the keyword results in the search engine results page (SERP). This will give you a first-hand look at the results on Google.

  • Volume: Amount of traffic received per keyword, which allows you to focus on keywords that get the most traffic.

  • Competitive Traffic Share: Breakdown of traffic share between you and your competitors, which shows you the keywords that you are winning. With these insights, you can continue with the strategy that is working and understand where else you need to put the focus on.
