Overview

App Technographics helps you visualize and compare over 2,800 SDKs installed and removed across 3 million apps worldwide, organized into 32 categories. Whether you’re building your product roadmap or benchmarking your competitors’ technology stacks, this report provides a detailed, side-by-side view of every SDK integration and change over time.

Use it to:

How to use App Technographics 

1. Select your apps

Under App Analysis > go to the App Technographics module. At the top, choose up to five apps to compare side by side. You can search for any app available in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.  

2. Explore the Technographics Overview

The Technographics Overview provides a high-level snapshot of SDK adoption across your selected apps.

Here, you can:

• See the total number of SDKs installed per app.
• Compare SDK distribution across categories, such as Analytics, Ad Networks, Attribution, Developer Tools, and more.
• Quickly identify which apps have the most complex or diverse technology stacks.

This module gives you a clear visual understanding of how each app’s SDK composition differs – making it easy to spot gaps, overlaps, or standout technologies among competitors.

3. Analyze SDKs in detail

The SDKs table lists every SDK detected in the selected apps, along with installation details.
You can use the SDK Category filter (with 32 available categories) to focus your analysis on specific technology types — for example, Ad Networks, Analytics, or Communication tools.

For each SDK, you’ll see:

• Which apps have the SDK installed
• Installation and removal dates
• SDK category and type
• Number of apps using that SDK

You can also export the SDK table to CSV or Excel for deeper internal analysis or reporting.

1. How often is the SDK data updated?
   Track SDK installs and removals with daily granularity and 37+ months of historical data so you never miss a trend. 
2. How is App Technographics in App Intelligence different from Technographics in Sales Intelligence? 
   While both solutions provide SDK insights, App Intelligence Technographics focuses on app-level SDK detection and trends – helping product, marketing, and strategy teams benchmark technology adoption across mobile apps. In contrast, Sales Intelligence App Technographics (referred to as the Apps Lead Generator) is designed to help sales teams efficiently find and qualify app-specific prospects based on their installed or uninstalled SDKs with advanced filtering like app category, performance, business model, etc. 
3. How much does App Technographics cost?
   App Technographics is available as a paid add-on through the App Intelligence platform or as a data feed. For pricing, please contact your Account Manager. 
4. If I buy App Technographics on App Intelligence, should I buy it again on Sales Intelligence?
   You can only buy App Technographics once, and it must be connected to something that gives you access to app data. In other words, you can buy it in one of three ways: 
   1. Sales Intelligence + App Technographics add-on 
   2. App Intelligence + App Technographics add-on 
   3. Sales Intelligence + App Intelligence + App Technographics add-on 
5. Can I filter SDKs by category or type?
   Yes, you can filter SDKs by one of 32 predefined categories, such as Analytics, Ad Networks, or Developer Tools, to focus on specific technology areas.
6. Does the data include both iOS and Android?
   App Technographics covers both Android and iOS platforms globally, and the analysis is done independently by platform. 
7. Can I track when an SDK was added or removed?
   Absolutely. Installation and removal timestamps are included in the SDKs table for every app.
8. Are permissions included in the data?
   Permissions analysis will be available soon. This upcoming module will let you view and compare all permissions requested by each app, classified as either Standard or Sensitive to help assess privacy and compliance implications.
9. What delivery methods are available?
   You can access App Technographics data through the Similarweb App Intelligence or Sales Intelligence platform, custom data feeds, or API, depending on your integration and analysis needs
10. If I don’t find an SDK in your system, can you add it?
    Yes! If you can’t find a specific SDK in our system, please contact your Account Manager. We’ll be happy to add and whitelist any new SDK you need for your analysis.
