Projects are designed to help you set up your Similarweb platform for success. They deliver quicker value by helping to complete critical ‘getting started’ actions when you first come to the Similarweb platform, as well as providing a central monitoring environment for ongoing competitor intelligence analysis.

As well as the Project view in the platform, which provides a ready-made Benchmarking report, you also get an automated weekly email, keeping you informed of useful benchmarking insights such as the weekly top performer and traffic and audience share movements between your Project’s chosen competitor set.

 

Who are Projects useful for?

Whilst targeted at Marketing Managers and similar roles, every Similarweb User can obtain value from using Projects. Projects provide a baseline understanding of competitive benchmarking - giving you an up-to-date feel for your share of voice, traffic and engagement trends, audience share and leading topics pertinent to your industry or competitor set.

They highlight some of our most popular and useful competitive insights straight off the bat - regardless of role or preferred use case, Projects have been designed to provide immediate value and insights.

 

How to Use Projects

Projects currently exist on your Similarweb Homepage - they can be built, edited, adjusted and removed - all from the Homepage. In the future, Projects will be accessible in many other areas of the platform, allowing for deeper, consistent analysis on your chosen competitor set.

Depending on your Similarweb package, multiple Projects can be created. With multiple Projects enabled for Team, Business and Enterprise packages, you can further personalize your experience and select any of the Projects in your account to be your default, ensuring you always return to monitor the Competitive Set that’s most important to you.

  Once set, you cannot edit or change the primary website of an existing project. However, you are able to delete the project completely and/or create a new one.

Q. How many Projects can I set up?
A. For Teams, Business and Enterprise packages, up to ten Projects can be built, enabling users to monitor performance separately for different geos, different owned properties, and for different business lines. For Starter and Professional packages, one project can be built.

 

Q. What’s the difference between Benchmarking Reports and Competitor Alert Emails?
A. You will automatically be subscribed to a Benchmarking digest relevant to the competitors selected in their Projects once it’s built . This highlights useful benchmarking insights such as the weekly top performer, traffic and audience share. You can also select to opt-in and receive Competitor Email Alerts for any Project created. This will help you to stay on top of Competitor changes, trends and more, so you never miss an important shift in your competitive landscape. Choose between weekly and monthly frequency of Email Alerts.

 

Q. How many competitors can I monitor in Projects?
A. If you are a user on a Starter or Professional package, you can add up to 10 competitors to your Project. If you are a user on the Team, Business or Enterprise packages, you can add up to 25 competitors per Project.
