- Track the rank of selected apps in their respective categories, and whether it’s rising or falling
- Understand the store downloads and see whether or not it's trending
- See how well an app is rated and gauge the sentiment of their reviews, whether they are shifting positively or negatively
- Benchmark an app's performance against competing apps to identify strengths and weaknesses
- Quickly assess the full funnel, from acquisition to engagement and satisfaction, all in one view
How to use the feature
The App Performance Overview is designed to help you understand an app’s position in the market and evaluate how users engage with it over time. Below are the key metrics of the report and how each can be used:
Downloads
Shows estimated app store installs over time. You can use it to:
- Identify acquisition trends (growth, stagnation, or decline)
- Evaluate the impact of marketing campaigns, seasonality, promotions, or competitor moves
- Compare market traction across competitors
Rankings
Shows the app’s ranking position within its category or in the overall app store. You can use it to:
- Check visibility within the app store
- Understand whether an app is gaining momentum or losing share
- Spot shifts in category competition or user interest
Ratings
Displays the average user rating and rating trends over time. You can use it to:
- Gauge overall user satisfaction
- Identify rating drops that might signal product issues, bugs, or UX challenges
- Benchmark rating quality against competitors
Analyzed Reviews
Breaks down review sentiment and themes. You can use it to:
- Understand user feedback and recurring complaints or praises
- Identify feature gaps, performance issues, or opportunities for improvement
- Track how sentiment changes after updates, feature releases or incidents
MAU (Monthly Active Users)
Shows how many users actively use the app each month. You can use it to:
- Measure retention and overall engagement

Daily Stickiness
Measures how consistently users return to the app (DAU/MAU ratio). You can use it to:
- Understand how habit-forming an app is
- Evaluate user loyalty and how engaged they are over time
- Compare stickiness across similar apps to identify best-in-class behavior
Revenue
Shows estimated in-app revenue and revenue trends over time. You can use it to:
- Identify spikes or drops tied to pricing changes, feature releases or seasonality
- Compare app revenue across competitors or markets
- Understand whether growth is driven by acquisition, engagement, or improved revenue per user
Where to find it:
- Go to the App Intelligence app
- Search for any app from the homepage which will take you to the App Performance Overview (The report is also the first option in the menu to the left)
- Click on the blue button next to ‘select app’ to add up to four other apps for benchmarking
- Use the filters in the upper right to select the country and time period you want to analyze
