What is the value?

Sector Analysis takes your insights beyond Similarweb’s sector heatmaps, offering a detailed view of the competitive landscape. By showcasing industry graphs and regional graphs alongside heatmaps, investors can uncover trends and generate insights at the industry level. With 3 years of historical data, bi-weekly updates, and metrics on total and unique visits, these heatmaps offer a comprehensive view, globally or by region

How to use Sector Analysis

  2. Establish the parameters for your analysis
    1. You can select the sector you’d like to focus on, Total Visits, or Unique Visits globally or for specific regions, with either biweekly or monthly granularity
  3. Then start analyzing! In the first section, you’ll receive a visual of the industry heatmap, following the heatmap table. FAQs

Q: How much historical data can I view in Heatmaps?

A: You can view up to 3 years of historical data

Q: How is the trend element calculated?

A: When calculating trends, it's important to distinguish between YoY growth and the comparison of the latest trends (last 4 weeks vs. last 12 weeks). We assess trends by comparing 4-week and 12-week visit averages. We set thresholds to categorize these trends: • An increase> 2% is labeled as "Rising" • An increase> 7% is labeled as "Spiking" • Within ±2% is labeled as "Steady" • A decrease > 2% is labeled as "Falling" • A decrease > 7% is labeled as "Plummeting"

Q: How often is the data refreshed?

A: The data is refreshed every two weeks, and is aligned with the Sector Analysis data update schedule.
